September 09 Goodson Family Blog

August was a busy time for all the Goodson family. Many families were on vacation, having fun in the sun and getting ready for school to begin.

But first here are some photos from the past from Bernice.

Guess who these cute babies are? (answers at the bottom)

That's right, the baby is in the bicycle basket!

Recently I asked folks for memories of Gerald. Judy sent this one along with a photo of Gerald.
Phyllis and I share this memory about Gerald. When Wanda and Gerald were dating he talked on the telephone to her every day. Gerald always carried the telephone into the living room to talk so he would have some privacy. Little did he know, Phyllis and I heard him as we listened outside the open window. One day he caught us. Boy, was he mad. He told us we were inmature kids, along with some other choice advice about how to behave. Later in years we always laughed about it. After all, Wanda was our age!

David Huss shares that Mason made the JV soccer team at Ardrey Kell High School and will be moving to defender this year. Vonda continues to travel quite a bit – Tampa, Atlanta, San Francisco all on the docket for this month. Parker is enjoying the new experiences of middle school. No, not uncle Mike, the Carolina Panther. David says he has a special gift for Uncle Mike when he sees him again.

Phyllis sends word that Mason has his driver permit. She took him to Lincolnton (when he was here working for Brad in June). Great experience for her. Parker spent two nights with NC and Phyllis last week. Anna and Mia are very happy with their teachers this year. Mia is "Beamer" for the elementry school. N.C.'s garden here and in the country has provided wonderful tomatoes, beans, corn, cucumbers, watermellons and cantelopes to the family and neighbors. She is sad to say they are all gone now.

Roger and I have been enjoying his retirement. Now that school has started I am back to babysitting Lily. Come by and see us at her house some time.
Chris is teaching at North Lincoln. Becky's practice continues to grow and she is teaching at CVTC. They are so very active in the Lincoln Theatre Guild. Chris will be directing the Dinner Theatre in October. Everyone is invited to come. It is a nice night out with good food and live theatre.
Roger and I are both members of the newly formed Lincoln Photography Club. If you get an opportunity our club has a display at the Lincolnton Library. We both have photos displayed.
Carson, Maggie and Judy stopped by to say hello to Lily one day right before school started.

*****The babies at the top were Mason Huss and Wayne Goodson.
By the way, Happy Birthday on August 11th to Wayne from Judy. The photo of Wayne was made in Grandmaw and Grandpaw Keener's front yard. This house was in Boger City across the road from the old Winn Dixie.
