We have news from David, Leslie, Becky and Erika.

From David
For the blog.  We are doing the usual - soccer, basketball, more soccer and

Not rentals either.

After a trip to Ikea, Ethan and the kids gutted the kids' bathroom.  Two
days later, he got the flu!  So, it has taken longer than planned, but here is the finished bathroom.

Ethan took Noah to his first Wake Forest Basketball game. They lost, but it
was still a fun time.

Noah is finishing up basketball at the Y and getting ready to start soccer.

Noah and His Science Fair Project

Emma's Science Project

Emma and Leslie went to the Ice Skating
Championship and got the added bonus of sitting with one of the skaters.
Emma is sitting between two of the skaters, sisters.  The younger one came
in 3rd place.

December Blog

Hope to see everyone Sunday, Dec. 12th at 1:00 at Karen's Church for the Goodson Christmas party.

Not many blog responses this time.

From David Huss

The Huss’ have been somewhat busy in November.

Parker’s soccer finally came to an end with a trip to Disney to play in the Disney Classic.  Unfortunately, it was over Thanksgiving, they did not play very well, but we had an lot of fun.  Now it is off to basketball.

Mason’s club team has played one tournament and has one more prior to Christmas.  Mason also made a college visit to UNC.  Did not fall in love, but we will see what the future holds.

Vonda has been travelling a quite a bit.  The good news is she was named an Executive Vice President at Wells Fargo.  Great title, but no additional pay or days off.  That’s the way they do it in banking.

David has been working hard and seeing some good news in the real estate industry.

December looks like a great month.  See you during the holidays.

From Becky Reavis

I am starting training to become a yoga instructor. The training is at a studio in Denver and starts in January. I'll be certified and (hopefully) ready to start teaching in May. This is something I would like to make available to my clients as well as everyone else in the area.

November Family Blog

The Goodson Christmas party will be Dec 12 at Alexis Baptist Church at 1:00. Watch your email for details.

From Leslie Bailey
October is a busy month for us.  Noah finished baseball on his and Emma's birthday.  Leslie went to Charlotte for 2 days for the Autism Super Conference. What an awesome conference. Temple Grandin was one of the speakers. She is truly an amazing person!

From Brent Reel
We just finished-up football season this past Saturday.  Jud played RB and LB for the 9&10 year old EL team and they finished 6-2.  I was an assistant coach.  Sadie cheered for the 5&6 year old EL team and Jan was the co-cheerleading coach.  Brooks was their biggest fan, although sitting through 3 football games every Saturday was a little tiresome for him.

From David Huss

Vonda goes to San Francisco for work quite a bit.  Finally she took David with her.  They visited a number of wineries in Napa Valley just north of San Francisco.  Wow! Great wine and food.  They spent two days in the city looking at all the sites and dining at some incredible restaurants.  One was the Wayfarer which is the signature restaurant of Tyler Florence of the Food Network.  You have to love the beggers in San Fran.  They are very honest.  Their signs say $1 for marijuana please.  Thanks to Phyllis for watching the boys.

David is selling a few houses.  The market is not totally dead.

Vonda was recently named Director of Human Resources of Wells Fargo’s Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement Services.   That means she gets a really nice office with artwork and more travel.  We are proud of her.

Mason’s high school soccer finally came to an end.  A bitter end at that.  They lost the conference championship on a goal by the opponent with 45 seconds left.  Overall, it was a fantastic season and lots to be proud of.  Mason is also starting his college visits next week.  First up, UNC!  Much to the dismay of NC, but he knows that both boys are tarheels.

Parker is following in the footsteps of his dad.  He loves golf and made the middle school golf team.  He has played pretty well and is still learning.  Soccer wraps up this month with a trip to Disney with the team over Thanksgiving.

The Bailey's are settling into a regular routine again now that school has started again.  Emma and Noah started 2nd grade.  With Emma in dance and
Noah playing baseball we have a full schedule already.  Ethan finished his MBA at Wake Forest on August 9th, his birthday!  It is wonderful to have him

We attended the Talking Trees Trout Derby in Cherokee in August. We had lots of fun and won a camping prize package complete with tents, sleeping bags, etc.  Grant and Aaron are playing fall soccer and are on the same team.  I am their coach.  Our family just returned from a Labor Day weekend at Sunset Beach where we relaxed and played MANY rounds of mini-golf.  Of course school has started, Grant in 4th grade and Aaron in 2nd grade. That's about all for August.

We are just getting back into the routine of going back to school. Megan began her senior year with being named one of the editors of the yearbook, and her design was chosen for the yearbook as well.  She is applying to colleges this month. Everyone pray that she gets accepted at her first choice: ASU!  Dylan is hot and heavy with baseball continuing to play for a team out of Hickory.  He has enjoyed his first few weeks as a freshman and adjusting well to high school

I captured these images from Erika and Wayne's Facebook. These spent Labor Day with Tammy and Jacob at the beach. They also have a new puppy,Olivia. Wayne's big boxer, Oscar, just loves her.

From Roger Goodson

We are busy redoing our master bath. We enjoyed a trip to the fair the other night night. Of course we are always busy with Lily. She is really putting words together now and she is such a joy to us.

Chris has formally resigned from Lincoln County Schools effective today (Sept. 8th) and is taking a job in Gaston County as a technology facilitator. Becky

is thrilled to have been selected as a guardian for the upcoming Honor Air flight. It is going to be very interesting travelling to DC with a group of WWII veterans.

August has been a fun filled month for all the Goodson Families.

Jacob on a Riverboat Cruise with Wayne and Erika
From Tammy Goodson
In  July, Jacob spent a week at "Camp Oma and Opa" in NC and a week at "Camp Grandma and Grandpa" in VA.   Although he missed his friends, he had a great time at both places!   In NC, he got to spend the week with his great Aunt Elfi from Florida and His great aunt Traudi and great uncle Gunter from Germany who were also visiting for the week.  They traveled to the mountains and had fun going to some local sites as well.   In Virginia he went to a water park, played putt putt,  and had lots of fun. Garin and I missed him and were a little jealous of all of the fun he had. We will be ending the summer with a family trip to the beach with the Dickerson family before Jacob starts back to school on August 16th.   He will be in 7th grade this year. Its hard to believe. We are very blessed and excited that Jacob will be starting in a new school this year.  He was one of 100 rising 7th graders to be accepted into the Florence County International Baccalaureate program this year.  It's a wonder opportunity for him to get a great education through the SC public school system.
Boy in the a Bubble

From Cale Watts
Cale and family spent two weeks at Disney.

Cale in 3 years.

From Dale Harris
We enjoyed family time in Palm Coast, Florida for vacation.  This summer we have been enjoying doing what we want when we want.

From Leslie Bailey
We continue to stay busy going to Asheboro zoo, Sci Works in Winston Salem, the Natural Science Center (regularly), and swimming with friends and family.  We also added to our family. We are now the proud owners of a 1 1/2year old border collie/spaniel mix named Oreo.  She is a rescue that we got from the same organization that we got our cat. She is a great dog and very smart.  Everyone is adjusting well

The kids and I took our annual beach trip with kids and moms.  4 moms, 4

sets of twins.  We always have so much fun.  We spent a lot of time at the
beach, went on a pirate cruise, and went to the aquarium where we saw Roger,
Kathy, Chris, Becky, and Lily!  That was such a nice surprise! Kind of sad,
though, that we have to drive to the beach to see them, though.  We also
went to some tide pools near the aquarium at low tide and saw sea anemone,
crabs, and fish.

From Delora Goodson

Delora, Mark, Colton, and Joseph enjoyed a vacation at Atlantic Beach. Delora will be teaching kindergarten this fall. Joseph is playing on the Lincolnton JV football team. He is playing linebacker and tight end. Look for his number 17 Jersey. He will be in 9th grade this fall. Delora adds that they have a new pet. Daisy the duck.

Happenings from July - Grant went to summer camp for the first time. First week was to RA camp at Camp Caraway, Baptist camp for boys. He had a great week of games & bible study. He learned that God doesn't need us but he wants us.  He was home for the weekend and then left for Centrikids camp at Anderson University.  He had more bible study, practiced flag football & basketball.  He had lots of fun and is ready to go again.  Janice attended the Premier Jewelry 25th anniversary national rally in Dallas, Texas.
We are going to Cherokee for the Trout Derby on August 8th, and on our way back we are to get our new schnoodle puppy.

Phillip and Janice enjoying the great outdoors.

Grant be careful!
Marshmallows are good!

From Roger Goodson

We had a great time at the beach for two weeks. One week with Judy and Jim and another with Chris, Becky and Lily. We were surprised to run into Leslie and the twins as we left the aquarium. We also saw Mike, Gail and Kyle while we were at the the beach. You wouldn't recognize Kyle! He is a lean mean running machine now.
Look who we ran into at the Aquarium!
Roger enjoying another day fishing.
Lily loved the sand.
