April 8, 2009 Issue 1 Volume 3 (Please send me the news of your family!)

Family News Judy Watts has been in the hospital since last week. She was transferred from Lincolnton to Carolina's Medical on Monday. Tuesday she had pacemaker implanted. She is still having some problems and at this time we do not know when she will get to come home.

Dale Harris wanted to share with everyone how Dylan is doing playing baseball. Dylan has played in four games so far this season for North Lincoln Middle. He is 1 for 3 at the plate with one strike out and five walks. He has scored the tying run in one game and the winning run in another. He was the starting and winning pitcher for the last game. He pitched a complete game which ended in four innings because the score was 13-2.

Leslie Bailey is also excited about sports. April 4th was Noah's first soccer game. They have only had 2 practices and this is his first time ever playing. He scored 2 of the goals and the other team didn't score any. See the pictures below. He is in orange, #9.

Tammy Dickerson says that March was busy for them. They went to Greensboro to spend the weekend at Les' to celebrate their birthdays (Erika, Les and Tammy's). It was on one of the March weekends that was so warm- the kids had a good time riding bikes and scooters and skipping rocks on the pond in their neighborhood. Jacob was in his school's production of Grease. He played a greaser, no speaking role, but stole the show when he did the Macarena during the Prom scene! See the pictures below of the birthday girls

For those that love Oak IslandThe beach magazine, The Pelican Post, is now an online magazine only. Kathy Goodson has a page of photos there as well as a short biography. Kathy was also pictured in Birds and Blooms magazine with one of her rain barrels. You can see it at http://pelican.neonexusdemo.com/the-art/artists/kathy-goodson

Maggie Watts tells us she is on her schools Battle of the Books Team. Her team won the county Battle of the Books contest. She was pictured in the April 8th Lincoln Times News with her team. She is also on the school news team and is an anchor this month. Carson and Maggie both performed recently at the school's talent show. See photos below.

Bernice Harris says that Phillip's boys, Grant and Aaron are finished with their basketball season. Grant's team came in 2nd at their tournament. Both boys are playing baseball and soccer. Also, Grant lost a tooth. He pulled it by himself!

Lily says “Hello” to everyone. Well, really she just says “Goo Goo” but she means “Hello”
